CCTV China's System 5-B OB Truck Interior.Palo Alto, CA (June 24, 2008)--Euphonix consoles will be in abundance at the upcoming Beijing Olympics, with seven Chinese broadcasters using a total of 17 the company's digital audio broadcast consoles for complete Hi-Definition coverage of the games.
China Central Television (CCTV), the country's largest broadcaster, has four Euphonix consoles, two Max Airs and a System 5-B in their broadcast facility and another System 5-B in their OB truck. Shandong TV has two Euphonix-equipped OB trucks as well as Max Air equipped-studio.
Chongqing TV equipped two large OB trucks with Euphonix Max Air consoles for broadcasting directly from the Olympic Village. TVCC has two Euphonix System 5-B broadcast studios and Jiansu TV's OB truck features a Max Air. Liaoning TV will use a Max Air on their OB truck and a System 5 for post production and, in a similar fashion, Yunnan TV has a Max Air-equipped OB Truck and a System 5-MC console in their post production studio.
Three of the Euphonix clients, CCTV, Liaoning TV and Shandong TV, will also be using the new Euphonix High-Density Fiber Stagebox Solution for their OB applications. This modular remote audio interface solution for broadcast applications features redundant fiber audio connectivity and control. The Stagebox connects multiple high-density stage boxes into the Euphonix DSP SuperCore via MADI and can handle up to 56 mic preamps which can also be fitted with combinations of I/Os to match the exact requirements of a particular application including analog, AES/EBU, SDI and MADI.
