Las Vegas, NV (April 27, 2005)–Euphonix, SAN Solutions and Hitachi Data Systems announced a collaboration to provide an audio facility network server solution specifically tailored to audio post and music applications at NAB2005.
The companies have teamed up to provide a totally integrated audio/video server solution designed specifically to improve and enhance workflow throughout any facility. The new system combines the file-level locking of a network gateway (NAS) and the centralized repository of a storage area network (SAN).
The Euphonix system utilizes Hitachi Data Systems Thunder 9500V series modular storage systems designed with the high availability and reliability that Euphonix customers have come to expect. The Euphonix staff works closely with SAN Solutions Inc., a channel partner of Hitachi Data Systems, to specify solution sets to fit the needs of each individual facility.
Euphonix director of product development, Steve Morris, is delighted with this collaboration. “Network audio servers is a very hot topic right now and a number of our audio post clients are looking for a solution such as this, packaged with their audio console,” said Morris. “The fact that this solution is tailored to the needs of audio post, and is backed by Hitachi Data Systems will make a big difference.”
Dr. Jay Yogeshwar, director media and entertainment global solution services for Hitachi Data Systems, has been working on this solution with Euphonix for some time. “Euphonix came to us with rigorous requirements on shared storage performance, availability and the ability to mix storage types,” Yogeshwar commented. “The Thunder 9570V met this criteria for their next generation audio network server solution. Harry Aine, from our channel partner, SAN Solutions Inc., helped engineer and provides additional support for this unique fully packaged solution for Euphonix.”
