A typical EV rig set up on the recent Bad Boys of Rock tour. New York (October 23, 2007)--Hinder, Papa Roach and Buckcherry spent the summer on the road on their "Bad Boys of Rock" tour--a venture that wrapped up its summer run on September 22, having delivered the goods in venues across America. Along for the ride was an Electro-Voice PA deployed by LD Systems of Houston, TX, which goes back into action later this week with the bands as the tour picks up again for a fall leg in Corpus Christi on Saturday, October 27.
Comprising the PA were 20 EV Xsubs, 16 Xvls, 4 Xvlts, 8 X-Array Xns and 4 X-Array Xb, all powered by P3000RL amplifiers running IRIS-Net software. Keeping all that firepower busy were crew chief Mike "Monk" Shear; monitor tech Mike Graham, and systems tech Anthony "Manchild" Di Donato
"Once again, X-Line proved itself without peer for loud, heavy, rock 'n' roll," says Robert Ausmus of LD Systems. "This system has the warmth and sonic finesse for all genres of music, from country to pop, but it also has the power handling, punch and reliability tours like this need to deliver the full-bore rock experience. X-Line simply sounds good, whatever the SPL. Add the remote control RL amps (running IRIS-Net control & supervision software) to the equation and you have a PA that is as streamlined-in terms of system setup time and centralized control-as it is seriously rocking."
