Emeryville, CA (April 23, 2007)–Ex’pression College for Digital Arts is now an Apple Authorized Training Center for Pro Applications and a Digidesign Certified Training Location for Pro Tools. In order to continue to provide the latest technology for students to train on, Ex’pression also purchased two Digidesign ICON integrated consoles for both audio post production and music recording.
Ex’pression College’s accelerated curriculum gives students the opportunity to earn the certificates with hands-on learning from professionals that are certified by Apple and Digidesign and to be trained on professional equipment in a full-service digital media production facility.
“Apple and Digidesign certification programs allow Ex’pression to maintain a competitive edge in the digital arts education industry. Not only are we providing a necessary value add to our students and streamlining our curriculum, but we are better serving our industry–the companies that hire Ex’pression graduates,” said John Scanlon, sound arts director, Ex’pression College. “In addition to securing a digital arts degree from Ex’pression in just 2.5 years, students now have the opportunity walk away with two industry certificates that help distinguish them in today’s job market. It’s the competitive edge that students need and employers are looking for.”
As an Apple Authorized Training Center for Pro Applications, Ex’pression College offers certification for students in Logic Pro. In the near future, Ex’pression will look to add other products from Apple’s line of production software for the certification including Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Shake, and Motion. Students take away an Apple certified textbook, a certificate of completion, and above all, a wealth of knowledge on the latest professional post production technologies used in the industry.
“When our students secure an Apple Pro or Digidesign Pro Tools certification, they are seen as proficient, professional-level users of those industry standard applications that are used everyday on television shows, on films and in recording studios,” said Paul Lipson, Dean of Education, Ex’pression College.
The new 48-channel D-Control system allows Ex’pression to certify students as Pro Tools operators. Ex’pression is also building a new studio and lecture hall that will house a new 24 channel D-Command console so that lectures and labs can be taught in a studio environment. Both consoles are widely used in the industry today for both Audio Post Production and Music Recording.
