Los Angeles (December 22, 2004)--The L.A. Studios, Inc. has announced that its West Side facility, Margarita Mix de Santa Monica, was selected by leading advertising agency Fallon Worldwide and renowned production company Ridley Scott Associates (RSA) to provide sound design, voice recording and mixing services for Amazon.com's Amazon Theater series of short films.

Margarita Mix de Santa Monica created both 5.1 surround and stereo mixes for four of the five films in the series. Directed by top young directors at RSA, the films feature stars such as Minnie Driver, Blair Underwood and Chris Noth.

"We have a great history with Margarita Mix de Santa Monica and it was a natural choice for us when choosing an audio post facility for the Amazon Theater series," said Brian DiLorenzo, executive producer and director of Fallon Broadcast. "The mixers are phenomenally talented and really helped make this series a great success."

"It made sense to partner with Margarita Mix for the audio portion of the project. Their engineers are particularly familiar with long-format and they made all the latest technology available to us," said Brigette Whisnant, senior producer at Fallon.

Margarita Mix de Santa Monica's Jeff Levy served as the mixer on Do Geese See God, starring Blair Underwood, and Portrait, starring Minnie Driver. Nathan Dubin was the mixer for Careful What You Wish For and Tooth Fairy, starring Chris Noth.

"The challenge in creating a successful short film is making sure every single moment serves to drive the story forward," said Jeff Levy, mixer at Margarita Mix de Santa Monica. "Our task was to create a dynamic soundtrack for each film that both accomplishes this goal and fully immerses the viewer in the world of the film."
