The committee will address a variety of fiber-optic technologies including recording, broadcast, test equipment, cables, connectors and broadband telecom links of audio systems worldwide. The objectives will be to better understand fiber-optic-based technologies to allow the user or designer an easier transition for integration with existing electrical-based audio systems. The committee will provide updated fiber-optic advancements through this process and will disseminate this information.

If you are interested in participating in the committee's activities, please send an e-mail to one of the two chairs and (preferably) show up at the committee meetings. AES and non-AES members are welcome. You do not have to be an AES member to join this committee, however you must be an AES member to serve as Chair or Vice-Chair of the committee. The committee communicates by means of an e-mail reflector site and plans to meet approximately every six months at alternate European and U.S. conventions.
