Wimberley, TX (January 26, 2006)–Legendary Audio has produced a free DVD demonstrating the capabilities of its Rupert Neve-designed Masterpiece analog mixing and mastering system.
Billy Stull demonstrates the Masterpiece in actionThe half-hour presentation opens with a ‘verbal tour’ overview of all of the Masterpiece’s controls and functions, followed by a step-by-step mastering session in which veteran mastering engineer Billy Stull progressively masters a track using the product.
“We’ve had a lot of interest from people who want to see and hear exactly what this unit is capable of, so the purpose of this DVD is to demonstrate what it can offer them and their clients,” said Stull, who is also the founder of Legendary Audio.
Stull noted that the Masterpiece is developing a devout fan base amongst professional mastering engineers, including recent purchasers Rob Fraboni (Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, Eric Clapton, etc.) and Alan Silverman (The Kinks, Cheap Trick, Norah Jones, Chaka Khan, etc.).
Projects of note to have benefited from the Masterpiece lately have included the most recent 311 album, Don’t Tread On Me, produced by Ron Saint Germain (Soundgarden, Tool, Creed, Bad Brains, etc.), the last two Okkervil River records–Black Sheep Boy and Black Sheep Boy Appendix–both mastered by Stull, and the Alan Silverman-mastered new live Andrés Calamaro CD, El Regreso.
