Ithaca, NY (February 20, 2007)–Phil French has been named to the newly created position of president and chief operating officer of Glyph Technologies, assuming all operational activities of Glyph’s U.S. and European entities. He has gained increasing responsibilities at Glyph during his 10 years with the company, most recently as vice president of sales and president of European operations.
In his new role, French is responsible for new product development, purchasing, marketing and sales. His new position affords him responsibilities to make important strategic decisions concerning the future of the company. Although assuming additional responsibilities, he will continue to interface directly with customers concerning their sales and service needs.
In 2006, French was responsible for Glyph’s significant new initiative in Europe where he established the company’s new sales, production and service division based in Germany. Glyph Europe will provide Glyph’s product line with the same level of quality as its U.S. counterpart, with a dedicated European sales and service team. French’s new role continues to include president of Glyph Europe.
Mike Driscoll, Glyph’s CEO, said, “Phil is the engine that drives Glyph, and in his new position he will now have significantly increased influence over the strategic direction of the company and its product offerings.”
