Glenview, IL (April 18, 2007)–Gand Concert Sound of Glenview, IL recently took delivery of another turnkey Nexo Geo T system, along with two new LS9 digital consoles from Yamaha.
President Gary Gand said, “As the first major Nexo concert system provider in the USA, we are committed to Geo T and wanted to get ready before the 2007 summer season heats up.”
2006 was GCS’ biggest year for Nexo rentals, and included several shows in stadiums as well as many outdoor local events, including Run Hit Wonder for Nike; USG Corporation’s special event “Only the Beginning” with musical group Chicago; the Elgin Symphony Orchestra at the new Sears Centre; Ted Nugent at Rockford IL’s On the Waterfront fest; Jessica Simpson at the (former) Tweeter Center shed; and Jewel at the Rialto Square Theatre, recorded for WTTW Soundstage by HDReady.
The new system includes two-dozen Geo T tangent array cabinets with rigging, 12 CD18 subwoofers, a dozen NX242 digital controllers, and 30 Yamaha PC9501N amps, which more than doubles the company’s inventory. Systems manager Joe Perona said “the additional amplifier inventory allows us to bridge the amps resulting in 25 percent more power into the subs.” Gand has also added more Nexo PS15s to its wedge monitor inventory.
The new Nexo NxStream software is running all Gand systems with the installation of Nx-Tension cards to all 20 NX242 controllers, which also adds Ethernet capability to the amp racks. System tech Adam Rosenthal said, “We set up, monitor, and adjust all NX controller functions from our laptops via Ethernet cable, remote from FOH.”
