Madison, WI (December 22, 2004)–The sometimes resident artists at Butch Vig’s Smart Studios, Garbage, have put the finishing touches on their new album, Bleed Like Me, due out in April 2005. With the band’s recent departure Smart’s upstairs B Studio is once again available for booking. Equipped with Digidesign Pro Tools HD3 Accel and a Pro Control control surface, Macintosh G5 computing power, and a host of outboard gear, Studio B offers the power and flexibility of Smart’s downstairs studio at a better price.
In the next month, Smart will also be moving its collection of vintage synths up to Studio B, creating a better environment for electronic and hip-hop production, vocal overdubs, and Pro Tools mixing.
Recently in session at Smart Studios was singer/songwriter Laura Day, mixing her album with Mike Zirkel. Zirkel also recently recorded some “killer” guitars, keys and vocals with Spiral Trance. Beau Sorenson edited tracks for Letter8’s debut album, and spent some time programming loops. Zirkel and Sorenson recently recorded zerotosixtyNEVER’s song “Fugghedaboud It.” And, Brandon Mason was in recording with The Form, and engineering and producing original music for advertising. Mark Haines was also in the studio recently, overdubbing and mixing with Ed Posega.
