Natick, MA (March 27, 2008)--Sounddesk, a Chicago-based audio post production facility established three years ago, has purchased and installed a Genelec 5.1 8200 Series DSP Monitoring System.

Mark Bandy, president of Sounddesk, whose clients include the award-winning public radio program World Vision Report as well as national commercial campaigns, says he spent time comparing various monitoring systems before choosing Genelec. "I knew I wanted to be able to present the exact same mix to several locations in the control room," he explains. "I wanted the producer's chair to hear exactly what I hear in the engineer's chair."

The system consists of five Genelec 8250A monitors and a Genelec 7270A subwoofer. The Genelec 8200 Series Bi-Amplified Monitors employ the company's proprietary DSP (Digital Signal Processing), GLM (Genelec Loudspeaker Manager software) and AutoCal (Automated Calibration software) technologies.

"I have to say I was skeptical at first," Bandy states, "but the Genelec GLM system works like a charm. I can load various presets in a matter of seconds, moving the engineer's mix and the 'sweet spot' to any place in the room. The sound--the response--just blew me away. Plus, Genelec is a name that discerning audio clients know and trust."
