Grass Valley, CA (February 21, 2006)–Graham-Patten Systems has announced the introduction of two new SoundPals de-embedders. The two new units take in HD or SDI video with embedded audio and de-embed up to eight AES/EBU outputs.
Each unit has headphone outputs enabling the user to select and monitor stereo channels from any of the AES/EBU groups. The new SoundPals units, named AEDM-4/HD and AEDM-4/SD, complement the now highly regarded HDDM-8 and SDDM-8 HD and SDI analog audio de-embedders that were released in 2005.
These new SoundPals, housed in the rugged signature 5.25 x 1.625 x 6.625-inch extruded aluminum package, feature active looping HD/SDI inputs, allowing units to be stacked so that up to 16 channels of audio can be made available to the user. All outputs are available on Phoenix connectors for ease of installation. There is a 1RU frame option, with central power supply, allowing convenient rack mount installation of multiple units.
The new de-embedders will be on display at booth SU141 at NAB2006. Graham-Patten offers a white paper titled “Your Digital Ear: Troubleshoot, Monitor and Meter Embedded Audio with SoundPals” that explains how the de-embedders are used by system integrators and engineers.
