San Francisco (June 5, 2008)–On Thursday, June 12, 2008, The Recording Academy San Francisco Chapter and the Producers & Engineers Wing will host “Location Recordings: A Workshop In Acoustics And Live Recording” for the audio community.
The event will feature recording engineers Michael Romanowski (The Lovemakers, Spencer Day) and Lolly Lewis (John Adams, Henry Butler).
Attendees will learn about reading the acoustics of a room, capturing a live performance and the different approaches to recording a classical performance (strings) and a bluegrass performance (assorted instruments). The engineers will facilitate a question and answer session and compare tactics in recording.
The event will be held at St. Mark’s Church at 1111 O’Farrell Street in San Francisco. Admission is free for Recording Academy members and $30 for non-members. Space is reportedly very limited and R.S.V.P is required. Recording starts at 6:30 p.m, so all guests must arrive by 6:30 p.m. in order to attend. Those interested are invited to R.S.V.P. to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 415.749.0779 by June 10.
