New York (August 29, 2008)–Activision’s popular Guitar Hero video game franchise will incorporate a number of real-world pro audio and instrument companies into its next edition, Guitar Hero World Tour. Present in the game will be Audio-Technica, Mackie, Guitar Center, AMPEG, EMG Pickups, Ernie Ball, Evans Drumheads, Krank Amplification, Marshall, Orange County Drum & Percussion, Pork Pie Percussion, Regal Tip, Sabian cymbals, Vox and Zildjian drumsticks.
Gamers will be able to score in-game sponsorships and gear from the various companies. In addition to featuring products, the game will let virtual bands play on stages inside digital re-creations of Amoeba Music and Live Nation’s House of Blues Sunset Strip.

In addition to the game and its new feature, it will include a new area, Music Studio music creator, that lets players compose, record, edit and share their own rock ‘n’ roll anthems. Music creators will also be able to share their recordings online through GHTunes where other gamers can download and play the songs.
