San Francisco, CA (October 15, 2010)—Music-oriented publisher Hal Leonard is expanding its presence at this year’s AES Convention, with author signings and more.

The Milwaukee-based company will hold book signings by multi-title authors Bobby Owsinski (Music 3.0, The Music Producer’s Handbook), Moses Avalon (Confessions of a Record Producer, Secrets of Negotiating a Record Contract), and Dave Hampton (The Business of Audio Engineering). Copies of Mixerman’s Zen and the Art of Mixing autographed by the author also will be available in Hal Leonard’s booth.

The highpoint of the company’s activities will be the raffling of three copies of the new Q on Producing, signed byQuincy Jones himself. The drawing will take place at 1pm on Saturday in Hal Leonard’s booth (#1240). A limited number of additional signed copies will be available for sale immediately after the drawing.

Part of the planned Quincy Jones Legacy Series, the illustrated hardcover book features Jones’ views on producing and recollections of many of his most famous projects, ranging from Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson and beyond. The book was written with author and audio expert Bill Gibson, who also is represented in the booth with The Hal Leonard Recording Method (six volumes), The Ultimate Live Sound Operator’s Handbook and other titles. Gibson also will sign copies of Q on Producing in the booth.

Hal Leonard will offer a full complement of music and audio-technology books and DVDs for sale at the show. Additional book titles include Jon Chappell’s The Recording Guitarist, Howard Massey’s Behind the Glass volumes 1 and 2, and John Stiernberg’s Succeeding in Music. Upcoming titles on view include Using Pro Tools in Music Education and Rockin’ Your Stage Sound. DVDs include tutorials on digital-audio workstations such as Avid Pro Tools, Steinberg Cubase, and others.
