Los Angeles, CA (May 31, 2005)–Award-winning composers Steve “Bone” Hampton and John Adair are currently scoring the first season of Stacked, Steve Levitan’s comedy for Fox Television. For Hampton and Adair, Stacked is the latest addition to a growing list of high profile assignments in television, commercials, feature films and the recording industry.
The composers, who write for Stacked and other television series through Hampton-Adair Music, are also the principals of Emoto, which provides original music production, licensing and a variety of other services to the advertising industry.
Through Hampton-Adair Music, the pair have racked up a slew of BMI and ASCAP awards for such shows as Just Shoot Me and 8 Simple Rules. Via Emoto, they regularly turn out cutting edge scores for ads promoting such familiar brands as Lexus, Adidas, Mountain Dew, T-Mobile and EBay.
Not too long ago, it was almost unheard of for commercial composers to successfully crossover into episodic television, but that is becoming increasingly less true. “The old boundaries have faded away,” said Hampton. “As creative artists, we want to work in different mediums, and the skills we have developed in the advertising world-the ability to work quickly and in a variety of genres-applies very well to TV. Our television clients are looking for innovative sounds and something that captures the personality of their show, that can brand it. That is a process that we understand very well.”
The composers’ ability to succinctly capture a show’s personality is evident in the sweet, wistful main title theme they created for Stacked. Show cues for Stacked are recorded live at Hampton-Adair’s studio in
