Chris Pannell, Harris CorporationCincinnati, OH (September 4, 2007)--Harris Corporation has named Chris Pannell director, North American radio sales for its Radio Broadcast operation. In his new role, Pannell is responsible for the entire Harris radio marketing effort across the United States and Canada, including managing regional sales staff, determining product marketing strategies, expanding the channel partners program and increasing sales.
Pannell joined Harris Corporation's Radio Broadcast Systems business unit in 2003 as a district sales manager; and was later named national sales manager for RF and radio systems and consoles, a position he held until this promotion. As national sales manager, Pannell supervised the business unit's team of district sales managers, monitored new technology developments in the radio industry, and promoted stronger relationships with independent radio broadcasters and channel partners.
Prior to joining Harris, Pannell was instrumental in launching several "start-ups," including high-technology companies in Silicon Valley and businesses outside the broadcast industry. He completed his bachelor's degree in Economics from Montana State University, and holds a master's degree in Telecommunications from the University of Denver.
"For the last year, we've been changing how we do business and maximizing our regional resources," said Pannell. "We've got the right sales team in place, and we're getting closer to the customer. We're engaging in markets we haven't traditionally served, and expanding the channel partners program. This is a very exciting time for Harris Radio."
Pannell added that increasing sales of HD Radio products will be the key marketing initiative. "Right now, we're a leader in HD Radio," said Pannell, who is based in Bozeman, MT. "Since stations in the tier-one market have already built out their HD Radio infrastructures, we're now turning our focus to the mid-market, and helping customers in the tier-two and tier-three markets migrate to HD Radio."
