New York, NY (October 4, 2007)--Hearing health advocates and experts will be at the 123rd AES Convention to provide audio and music industry professionals with free hearing tests, protection and education.
The House Ear Institute will provide free hearing screenings and education at Booth #576 through its Sound Partners hearing conservation program, and H.E.A.R. (Hearing Education and Awareness for Rockers) will offer free ear impressions/hearing protection at Booth #947 during conference exhibit hours.
Representatives of both organizations will participate in the AES Workshop, "Is Your Job Killing You (Or Just Making You Deaf)?" The workshop will be held October 8 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Panelists at this workshop will discuss on-the-job issues that contribute to noise-induced hearing loss risks and examine ways audio engineers can protect their hearing while still doing their jobs.
