Bob Heil.Fairview Heights, IL (May 16, 2008)--Bob Heil recently visited the Country Music Television (CMT) studios to deliver three new PR 22 microphones, to be awarded during the Nashville AES Section Spring Mixer competition.

CMT, which made its 330 Post Studios available for the competition, also features Heil Sound microphones in its radio facility. The competition, held in March, is an annual opportunity for students at several local colleges to try their hand at mixing tracks with a panel of audio experts as judges.

While visiting old friends Shipley Landiss, engineering technical manager, and Jim Gilmore, audio maintenance engineer, and being given a tour of the CMT facilities in downtown Nashville, Heil was able to see his microphones in action as country stars Emerson Drive stopped by for a live in-studio interview. A total of eight Heil Sound PR 40 mics are mounted via Heil SM-2 shock mounts on to PL2T booms at the facility.

According to Gilmore, "When the time came to choose microphones for the radio facility, we looked at numerous options and finally settled on the Heil PR 40s. We were impressed by the overall quality of the microphone from both construction and sound quality standpoints; the reasonable price was also a consideration. The microphones have been in service for nearly two years, and we have been very pleased with their performance, which has been exceptionally good and entirely trouble free."
