San Francisco, CA (September 15, 2004)--Hi-Tech Audio recently purchased three new Yamaha PM5D mixing consoles, and true to form, had them hired out before they’d even arrived. That meant, however, that the company had to beat the clock to get the desks to their intended tours before the productions hit the road.

Louis Adamo, Hi-Tech Audio president, explained, "I’ve been supplying consoles for concert tours for over 15 years and I’ve never seen a console move as fast as the PM5D has from the manufacturer’s release to prominent tour equipment riders. Fortunately, our long experience as a stocking/serving Yamaha PM1D dealer and our pre-release preparation for the arrival of the PM5D helped us to meet the challenge."

This included having the cooperation and support of Yamaha and long-time Hi-Tech Audio console case supplier, Ascot Superior Flight Cases. Adamo then hit the road with the consoles to train their upcoming users. The first stop was to deliver Rat Sound’s newly purchased PM5D and train George Squires, engineer for R.E.M.’s concerts on the Swing State Tour with Bruce Springsteen and others, as well as their own North American tour.

The other two PM5Ds were purchased, respectively, by See Factor of Long Island City, NY for Deep Purple’s ongoing Bananas world tour, and Golden State Sound of Santa Rosa, CA for use at this summer’s Mondavi Winery Concert Series.
