Los Angeles, CA (October 15, 2007)--The Hollywood Post Alliance has announced the nominees for the second Annual HPA Awards. Winners will be announced during a gala evening ceremony on November 1, 2007 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.
The awards, launched in 2006, acknowledge creative and technical excellence in the art, science and craft of post production in 12 categories in motion pictures, commercials and television.
Nominees in the category of Outstanding Audio Post - Feature Film include David Fluhr, C.A.S. Myron Nettinga and Todd Toon (Buena Vista Sound) for Meet the Robinsons, and Karen Baker Landers and Per Hallberg (Soundelux) and Scott Millan and David Parker (Todd-AO West) for The Bourne Ultimatum.
For Outstanding Audio Post - Television, nominees include Mace Matiosian, Bill Smith, Yuri Reese, David Van Slyke, Ruth Adelman and Jivan Tahmizian (Todd AO) for CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - "Living Doll;" Kevin Burns, Todd Orr, Jason George, Tim Boggs and Jed Dodge (Todd AO) for The Sopranos - "The Blue Comet;" and David B. Cohn, M.P.S.E, Nello Torri and Alan Decker, C.A.S. (Sony Pictures Television) for The Company (Night 2).
In the Outstanding Audio Post - Commercial category, the nominees are Parvinder Thind (Wave Recording Studios) for Skoda: "Giggle;" Chris Franklin (Big Sky Editorial) for American Express: "Animals;" and Jeff Levy (Margarita Mix Santa Monica) for STL: "Terrorism Has No Religion."
In addition, Fred Rheinstein will be honored at the November 1st event with a Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing his notable career. Rheinstein, founder of The Post Group, has been an important supporter of the post production industry as well as a successful entrepreneur and award-winning producer and director.
The HPA Engineering Excellence Award winner, which will be announced later this month, will also be presented at the gala.
