New York, NY (June 18, 2009)–Veteran mixer Steve Bucino has joined the staff of Hyperbolic Audio, which is co-owned by Julian Rebolledo and Sean Elias-Reyes.
Bucino, an accomplished musician, performer and writer who recently exited New York’s Tonic, brings a stellar reputation and top-caliber skills to his new post at the full-service audio post house. His studio background also includes session work at Seattle’s Ironwood Studios, and two years at Water Music, where he engineered and produced numerous independent music projects, while honing his skills working alongside legendary engineers, such as John Agnello, Michael Barbiero and Bob Marlette.
“Steve has the skills and the personality to be a top mixer,” noted Rebolledo. “We look forward to collaborating with him and continuing to exceed our current and future clients expectations”.
While at Tonic, Bucino worked on a number of short- and long-form productions, including CBS’ 48 Hours, Discovery Channel’s Cash Cab, HGTV’s Hidden Potential, Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer/Go Diego Go, Disney’s Johnny and the Sprites as well as various projects for MTV, History Channel, A&E, PBS and TV Land.
Bucino’s further 5.1 surround sound design and mixing contributions can be found on a diverse mix of prestigious feature films and documentaries, including Angelina Jolie’s production, A Place In Time (Tribeca Film Festival), David Schisgall’s Very Young Girls(Toronto Film Festival, Showtime), Steve Kampman’s feature, Buzzkill (Cannes Film Festival), and PBS’ African American Lives 2.
Advertising agencies and editorial houses Kaplan Thaler Group, UniWorld, Publicis, Young and Rubicam, J. Walter Thompson, The White House, Red Car, Rhino Editorial, Jump, Fluid, Indelible and Floating World have also called upon his talents.
Since joining Hyperbolic Audio’s staff, Bucino has worked on the sound design and mixing of a web campaign for Tinactin, as well as various projects for clients such as Nick Jr., Chanel, Walmart and Aquafresh. He is currently busy sound designing and mixing a new animation pilot for Hyperbolic.
