iKey Audio, a division of GCI Technologies, has announced availability of its new portable digital recorder, the HDR7. It covers all the standard portable stereo recorder bases: It records in formats from mp3s (at three different bit rates) up to WAV files (as high as 24-bit/96 kHz) and comes with onboard condenser mics in X/Y configuration, a SD/SDHC slot that accepts up to a 32 GB card, a Mic Sensitivity switch (L/H), adjustable record level with VU meter, mic-/line-input jacks, headphone and line-out jack, auto-compression/limiter/AGC (Auto Gain Control), a USB port, and AA battery or AC operation.

Plus, the HDR7 has a large, full-color LCD screen, can direct record to a USB thumb drive, records AIFF and AAC files, does onboard conversion of existing files to other formats, comes with an input gain switch with three settings, autorecord and auto-track mark functions, mark or file timer mode with useradjustable times, date and time settings, noise gate functions, a five-second prerecord buffer, and a built-in guitar/chromatic tuner.

Finally, accessories come with the unit — including a tripod stand, AC adaptor, windscreen, 4 x AA batteries, cloth carrying case, USB cable, and SD card (1 GB).
