London (February 26, 2007)–Lots of people still dress up when they go to the theater, putting on their Sunday Best for a night on the town; for those who attend services at London’s ChristChurch, they do the same thing on Sunday mornings as well, since their church services are held in the 1,200-seat Piccadilly Theatre in London’s West End. Every Sunday the theatre, currently hosting a revival Guys and Dolls, is tranformed into a house of worship, complete with its own InnovaSon Sy48 Evolution digital console.
An InnovaSon Sy48 Evolution digital desk is used during contemporary worship services at ChristChurch in London.Technical director Rhys Scott advised ChristChurch to purchase the desk for FOH and monitoring needs, keeping in mind that it wouldbe largely used by volunteers. “Since the console arrived, we’ve been extremely pleased with it,” continued Scott. “The audio quality is fabulous and the team has found it very easy to use. We’ve really appreciated the Sy48’s ability to store settings and recall compression, EQ and even mix settings; it’s made a huge difference to our set-up and sound check time, which, as you can imagine, is very tight. Now, I’m pleased to say, we’ve all got a little bit more breathing room!”
Scott also noted that that the future potential of the desk, particularly with regard to the Aviom interface, is of great interest to the church. “We currently run two Aviom networks for the band’s personal monitors, so the ability to add a further two directly from the desk is extremely good news.” He also commented that the release of the plug-in processing that was previewed at the Plasa show is potentially a significant addition for the church.
