New York (January 31, 2006)--Instant Live has added to its repertoire by producing some of its live recordings in SRS Circle Surround 5.1, a process developed by SRS Labs. In addition, many of the Circle Surround encoded tracks are available now as digital downloads through Napster.

Instant Live is one of the numerous companies that has entered into the fledgling business of producing instant live CDs of concerts to be sold on site at concert venues directly after a performance. It has had the advantage, however, of being a division of the concert promotion behemoth Live Nation (formerly Clear Channel Entertainment).

According to SRS Labs, Instant Live selected SRS Circle Surround for its ability to recreate the live concert recording experience. "I put SRS Circle Surround through its paces, and, to put it simply, it works," said Andy Scarth, head mixer at Live Nation. "Our Instant Live recordings with SRS Circle Surround make you feel like you're right there at the concert."

According to SRS Labs, SRS Circle Surround is "an advanced multichannel encode/decode system that allows full bandwidth surround sound to be stored, transmitted, or delivered in stereo over any two-channel carrier such as standard Compact Discs." The-encoded CDs play in stereo on a standard CD player and in full 5.1 channel surround sound on any matrix surround-compatible home theater or automotive receiver.

"Teaming with SRS is helping to further our goal at Instant Live in attracting more consumers and enhancing the concert experience," said Stephen Prendergast, general manager of Instant Live. "Our motto is 'Take the band back to your place,' and with SRS Circle Surround, fans now take back the ultimate concert experience. We couldn't be happier with the enhanced audio quality."

"Live Nation/Instant Live is breaking new ground to maximize the potential of digital content for live events," said David Frerichs, executive vice president of strategic marketing and corporate development at SRS Labs. "They have taken advantage of the stereo compatibility in SRS Circle Surround to deliver a realistic sound experience to the broadest possible audience. This is just the beginning of a very successful relationship."
