Englewood, NJ (April 25, 2005)–Producer/keyboard player Jason Miles recently checked back in to Bennett Studios’ North and South Rooms for a second round of all-star tracking with singer Suzy Bogguss and engineer Brian Dozoretz. Bennett’s North Room recently hosted NYC radio station WFUV for a “Members Only” live broadcast with Dave’s True Story.
The entire “Members Only” show was multitracked, broadcast over ISDN lines, and shot in DV for the band’s upcoming live DVD being produced by Dae Bennett, who was also the “live” engineer during the broadcast direct from the studio’s Neve VR console. During a two-hour event, DTS was able to get more than enough material for a live CD, 5.1 DVD, interview for EPK use, and a live FM/Internet broadcast.
Interpol recently joined Bob Mould in Bennett’s South Room to work on a remix, Mould-style, on the SSL 4080 G+. Drummer Sam Fogarino and Mould worked with Ableton Live on the “electronic” arrangement of the Interpol remix before it was mixed on the SSL by Brian Dozoretz.
“Commissioner” Gordon Williams is back in Bennett’s North Room doing the final mixes for Panic + The Rebel Emergency’s debut CD. And, producer/engineer Kevin Shirley completed a week of production with Estonian Rock Band House Of Games. Brian Dozoretz engineered on the Neve in the North Room, and then Kevin Shirley mixed on the SSL in our South Room. The band and their management stayed on-site at our Carriage House facility while enjoying their first visit to the NYC area.
Kevin Bacon and his brother Michael brought their band back for their second CD project as The Bacon Brothers. Dae Bennett is handling the tracking, mixing, and mastering in Bennett’s North, South and Pro Tools Suites. And, engineer Jason Corsaro brought in local rockers Ruby Bullet for a two-day mix session off of analog tape in the south room.
Bennett’s new DVD production suite has been busy with DVDs, EPKs, and enhanced CD productions for house favorites The Lascivious Biddies, Mike Viola, Dave’s True Story, and Veronica Martell
Coming up in May, The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra will return to Bennett Studios with their all-star jazz cast of players to make an album, after a Grammy Award-winning record last year. Gary Chester will engineer for the Vanguard, with Dozoretz on Pro Tools. And, Interpol will return for their first visit to Bennett’s North Room to begin tracking with Dozoretz. Also, “Commissioner” Williams will bring in emerging artist Leela James for a week of rehearsal for her summer tour. Initial Rehearsal will be in the main space of our North Room, and then they will do a full dress rehearsal at the BerganPAC. DV shooting and multitracking will accompany all rehearsals for a future DVD release.
