Atlanta, GA (December 7, 2006)–JDM Mobile announced the official launch of its all digital, remote broadcasting and recording truck. Named after the Beluga Whale, the JDM Mobile Beluga Truck is a 40-foot, state-of-the-art facility on wheels.
The Beluga Truck is capable of broadcasting 128 inputs from the stage to the truck via fiber optics. Constructed for isolation and stability, the truck is complete with lead-lined walls and a custom suspended floor.
“The broadcast industry is continually asking for more inputs, more outputs and more bussing options without the loss of sonic integrity,” said Michael Paul, vice president of marketing for JDM Mobile.
The truck is equipped with dual Yamaha DM 2000-V2’s with add-on effects, dual Pro Tools|HD3 rigs, dual Tascam X48s, TC Electronics System 6000, Aphex 1788A microphone preamps, and compressors by Urei, API and Empirical Labs. The 5.1 surround sound monitoring configuration is composed of Adam S3As.
“I think the ability to offer a ‘bullet-proof’ remote facility with amazing flexibility, in a comfortable studio vibe, was the primary focus for design,” said founder Jimmy Daniel.
Since the truck went into service in April, JDM Mobile has broadcast or captured audio for AOL, ABC, BET, VH1, XM radio, Regal Cinemas, Ultrafest 2006, John Cossette Productions and performances by Justin Timberlake, The Killers, Gretchen Wilson, Nickelback, Widespread Panic, Snoop Dog, T.I., Ludacris, Cheap Trick, Jermaine Dupri, The Prodigy and Hot Hot Heat.
