JECO Opens NYC Film/TV/Commercial Music Complex

New York (June 1, 2004)--JECO Music, a bi-coastal company with potent feature film, TV programming and commercial music credentials, has partnered with sister company Stolen Car Productions to introduce an expansive new production/post-production complex to the NYC production community. Created by the Walters-Storyk Design Group, the 4,000 square foot facility occupies the entire 10th floor at 62 West 45th Street.

New York (June 1, 2004)--JECO Music, a bi-coastal company with potent feature film, TV programming and commercial music credentials, has partnered with sister company Stolen Car Productions to introduce an expansive new production/post-production complex to the NYC production community. Created by the Walters-Storyk Design Group, the 4,000 square foot facility occupies the entire 10th floor at 62 West 45th Street.

Featuring four Pro Tools composing/mixing suites, two Avid Media Composer/Meridian rooms, a live studio capable of accommodating up to 12 musicians, a five-person voiceover studio, a conference room and executive, production and administrative offices, the JECO complex offers clients a vast array of creative and technical advantages along with substantial creature comforts.

Designed by WSDG principal architect John Storyk and VP Scott Yates, JECO's handsome interior design was developed by company co-principal Beth Walters. "We were fortunate to work with JECO partner Leigh Roberts," Walters said. "In addition to being a talented composer, he has excellent taste and a real vision for the way he wanted the studios to look. Guided by his suggestions we were able to provide JECO with colors and textures that give the studios an attractive, creatively stimulating ambience."

Architect John Storyk reports the project was a challenging, but gratifying experience. Chris Bowman and his CHBO team, were invaluable at helping us navigate the many issues related to constructing a complex multi-floating room environment, and installing the critical air conditioning and related mechanical systems crucial to a successful operation," Storyk said. "Considering the infinite number of details that needed to fit together to get a studio of this scale to happen, I can't imagine working with a more dedicated and professional contractor."

The facility serves a collective of six independent but closely aligned companies: JECO Music and Stolen Car specialize in production, post production and music services for film and television. Company credits include commercials for Pepsi, FedEx, Wendy's, Domino's, Ragu, and many other national advertisers. With studios in Santa Monica, CA as well, their television and feature film credentials range from CBS' The Guardian and Naked States for HBO to the Dennis Leary Roast and Contest Searchlight for Comedy Central and Washington Heights, a feature film which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Stolen Car and JECO executive producer Gus Reyes has produced hundred of projects and directed commercials for such clients as Grey Advertising and Saatchi & Saatchi's Kasindorf & Sullivan subsidiary.

Other creatives sharing the new studio are: Moving Picture Music NYC headed by Chris Hajian whose credits include music for HBO's Naked States, CBS's CSI, On The Team for Nickelodeon and ABC's Alias; Propeller Music & Sound Design, headed by creative director/composer Doug Hall and exec. producer Iris Schaffer, composers for Visa, BMW, Calvin Klein and the score a new independent feature film, Steve Phoenix: The Untold Story; director Conrad Fink's This Is TV, commercial producers for Huntington Learning Center, the United Federation of Teachers and many other clients; and Paul LeBlanc's Lantern Eye, TV programming producers whose credits include VH1's Sonic Cinema and projects for MTV.

"We shot for the stars when we began talking with John Storyk," Gus Reyes said. "Although our project was a bit smaller than the world class facilities he's accustomed to, he was intrigued by our concept: A boutique studio where we offer clients a range of creative services from concept to final digital master. John saw this as the wave of the future and something he wanted to be a part of."
