St. Louis, MO (February 15, 2005)--Joyce Meyer Ministries has a television program broadcast to more than two-thirds of the world, and a radio program broadcast on more than 300 stations. Now, with the aid of Gepco International cable products, Joyce Meyer Ministries can reach its audience more efficiently. In order to ensure the highest production quality possible, Joyce Meyer Ministries recently hired Houston-based Broadcast Technical Services, Inc. (BTS) to help rebuild its remote production unit and its on-site studio facility.

With an 18-wheeler equipped with 150 to 160 cases of gear, a team from Joyce Meyer Ministries hits the road nearly every two weeks to conduct a conference in a different U.S. city. Each of these conferences is taped and broadcast at a later date via tape delay. Prior to the revamping of its portable flight pack, the crew at Joyce Meyers Ministries used a hard-wired system that provided little flexibility. For more durable, flexible and superior electrical performance, BTS turned to Gepco to handle the cable product requirements.

"I've worked extensively with Gepco in the past (wiring the Texans football stadium and Houston Rodeo) and we've developed a very good relationship with them," stated Bill McKee, CEO and vice president of BTS. "The beauty of working with Gepco is that I don't have to go to 30 different vendors. I can go to Gepco, give them the information and they do all the footwork. I was able to give the installation list to Gepco, who had everything in stock, and they were able to deliver the equipment the next day in most cases. I was up against a tight deadline and Gepco bent over backward to supply me with everything I needed."

The flight pack consists of a brand new Sony 950 camera, two DFS 700A digital switchers, a 16x16 digital video router and four IMX tape decks all in two cases, while the studio includes four cameras with a digital switcher and an IMX record decks. Equipment supplied by Gepco for this installation included: VS32001 High Definition Video Coax Cables; GA618GFC, Multi-Pair, Gep-Flex Audio Cables; VDM Miniature SDI Coax Cables; D61801EZGF Single-Dual Pair Audio Cables; VSD2001 High-Definition SDI Coax Cables; VS10230 Miniature Ten-Channel HD SDI Video Cables; VA2/4 Composite A/V Low Loss Video Cables; and LVT61859 Flexible Studio/Remote Triax Camera Cables. Additionally, Gepco supplied BTS with bantam patchcords, video patchcords, Neutrik connectors, Switchcraft connectors, tiewraps and wiremarkers, Mid-Atlantic rack accessories, King's 2065 series High-Definition BNCs and Tri-Loc connectors, D-Sub connectors, Coastal coax stripper and custom panels.

"The previous equipment used by Joyce Meyer Ministries was more of an industrial version with little flexibility," McKee explained. "There were no patch panels, so you couldn't troubleshoot easily. If anything broke, you would have to unwire the system to try and figure out what was wrong with it. Whereas the way it is wired now with the patch panels supplied by Gepco, we can test anything instantly or even bypass it. The new equipment gives us greater flexibility for last minute changes and quick troubleshooting applications."
