New York (April 21, 2005)–Since the launch of Kudo, L-Acoustics’ line source array system, it has started to take off. For example, December 7, 2004, saw the first event ever to use the system–a production of Mamma Mia, the ABBA musical, performed in Edinburgh, Scotland. The show is now in Capetown, South Africa, where it’s preparing to move again for a European tour. The Kudo system will be used for all dates and the configuration will remain the same as in Edinburgh: a typical L/R system comprising 10 Kudo on each side, plus a center cluster of 11 dV-Dosc completed by 2 SB218 subs.
In Greece, both Papadimas Sound Services (L-Acoustics dV-Dosc Provider) and Daskalopoulos (Arcs user) have purchased Kudo. Daskalopoulos has an inventory of 36 cabinets, whereas Papadimas used its Kudo system for the concert of the famous Greek singer Michalis Hatjiyannis in Nicosia, Cyprus on March 2. The FOH system consisted of 18 Kudo, 16 SB118 subs and 6 Arcs for stadium sides, while the stage system included 4 Arcs as side fills and 4 115FM wedges. The concert took place at the Eleytheria basketball stadium, where an audience of 10,000 people attended the show. The sound engineer, Christos Chrysanthou, comments, “It’s a very high-fidelity and user-friendly system with excellent results and a lot of headroom!”
