Sweden (March 31, 2009)--Lab.gruppen has named Ulf Larson as its new CEO, effective July 1.
The appointment will follow a transition period from current CEO, Tomas Lilja, who is leaving to take on a new postion in the software industry after nine years leading Lab.gruppen.
Anders Fauerskov, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of parent company, TC Group, remarked, "Ulf has many years of experience in senior management at Lab.gruppen. Most importantly, as far as the company's development is concerned, Larson has been heading up the business units developing the PLM Series Powered Loudspeaker Management systems and the new Lake LM 26 digital audio processor. Larson has considerable previous experiences as production manager in the defense industry and was a naval officer in the Swedish Armed Forces. I am confident that he will be able to provide the leadership to execute Lab.gruppen's aggressive market strategies. He is the ideal person to take over from Tomas, who will work with Ulf over the next few months in order to make the transition as smooth as possible."
"After nine years as CEO of Lab.gruppen," comments Lilja, "I have decided to take on a new challenge in the software industry. It hasn't been an easy choice, but leading Lab.gruppen through several growth phases and the fact that many goals and visions have been accomplished and fulfilled made me to desire to take on the new challenges of developing a smaller but potentially successful company once again. The difficult part of my decision is that I will miss my staff, customers and friends within the industry."
Larson is also looking forward to the new challenge. "I am honored by this appointment and am excited by the challenge of taking the company forward as we continue to expand sales in core and newly targeted markets," he remarked. "Since joining Lab.gruppen, it has been a pleasure to contribute to the company's growth and progress, and I look forward to managing our future success."
