Germany (February 9, 2009)--Lawo AG was presented with a silver award, in the mid-sized company category, at the 29th German Economy Innovation Awards.
On Saturday, January 24th, 2009, Philipp Lawo, CEO of Lawo AG, accepted the award, presented by Dr. Annette Schavan, Minister of Education and Research, during a ceremonial gala evening, held at the Old Opera House in Frankfurt.
Lawo had been nominated by the jury for the development of its modularly designed mc_ product platform. Lawo also was delighted with this prestigious distinction for his company: "It confirms once again that we are on the right track."
More than 350 companies sent in applications for the Innovation Awards. Nominees were picked by a high-caliber jury with prominent members from research and industry, including Nobel Prize winner Prof. Dr. Klaus Klitzing (Max Planck Institute), Dr. Ulf Merbold (ESA European Space Agency) and Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Bullinger (President of the Fraunhofer Society).
