Nashville (August 10, 2007)--The Society of Professional Audio Recording Services (SPARS) has announced that Leslie Ann Jones has been re-elected to the office of President for the 2007-2008 term, which commences October 1, 2007.

Jones, based in Northern California, is Skywalker Sound's director of music recording and scoring and a Grammy-winning recording and mixing engineer whose diverse roster of credits includes projects with Herbie Hancock, the Kronos Quartet, Michael Feinstein, BeBe & CeCe Winans and Marcus Miller, among many others, as well as numerous feature film and television scores. A current trustee and past Chairperson of The Recording Academy's Board of Trustees, Jones is also a member of the Recording Arts advisory boards for the Ex'pression College for Digital Arts, and the Institute for Musical Arts in Goshen, MA.

SPARS, founded over 25 years ago, is a nationwide membership based service organization dedicated to sharing practical, "hands-on" technical and business information. The SPARS community includes audio recording and mastering facilities, manufacturers, producers, engineers, and multimedia specialists--everyone from single-operator studios to large multi-room facilities. SPARS initiatives include networking and educational events, student mentoring sessions, and working relationships with recording education schools and organizations.

Reflecting on her first term as President of SPARS and the organization's goals for the upcoming year Jones commented, "In the past, SPARS has been seen as an organization that works only for large recording studio operations. But today, traditional recording studios, smaller facilities and audio post companies are defined much more by our commonalities than our differences. We have a lot to learn from each other as we go forward in this challenging business climate. SPARS is ideally positioned to foster the communication and common initiatives that are mutually beneficial to all of these companies."
