Westview Baptist Church's FOH
Mix position with its Yamaha
Sanford, FL (April 23, 2009)--Snakes and religion typically don't go together (just ask Adam). Teer Engineering (Orlando, FL) recently used a LightViper digital snake, however, for an installation at the Schacht Ministry Center at Westview Baptist Church in Sanford, FL.
As part of a completely new sound system, Teer Engineering installed a LightViper Series 32 system for transport of all audio signals. The space is a multipurpose facility that will be used as a second 1,200-seat sanctuary, but also serves as a recreational facility with basketball court and stage.
The LightViper system at Westview Baptists Church consists of a VIS-1832 "stagebox", two VIM-MY32 cards for the Yamaha M7CL-48 console, and tactical fiber to connect the stagebox to the cards in the console.
"In this application, we opted for tactical grade fiber because the console gets moved around within the facility," said John Teer, president of Orlando based Teer Engineering. "While we considered other alternatives, including Ethernet-based systems, in the end, LightViper offered the only proven product at the right price point for this installation. The installation was a piece of cake; we mounted the stagebox in a rack, fit the LightViper VIM-MY32 cards into the Yamaha M7CL-48 and everything fired right up."
