New York, NY (December 8, 2003)–Manhattan Center Productions (MCP) is teaming with Little Kids Rock to become the organization’s official New York City audio recording studio. Little Kids Rock is a non-profit organization that reaches out to disadvantaged public school students to bring music instruction back into the classroom using free musical instruments.
MCP will open its studio doors not only to these students to record their own promotional CDs, but also to high-profile artists who will record tracks written by “Little Kid Rockers” (ages 6-12) for Little Kids Big Fans. Revenues from the compilation of songs on this album are intended to benefit struggling music education programs.
MCP is excited to contribute to an organization that harvests musical talent at such an early age. “For almost 100 years, the Manhattan Center has sustained a commitment to provide New Yorkers with access to the very best in music performance,” says MCP president Peter Ross. “The youngest in our community are deserving of every opportunity to experience and to create the joy of music. We are therefore delighted to be part of the Little Kids Rock team.”
Little Kids Rock began in 1996 and has produced three full-length albums to date. With this new partnership, children in the Little Kids Rock program will have the opportunity to record their next album at the Manhattan Center in the same studios used by Timbaland, Missy Elliott, Bon Jovi and many more.
