Bangkok, Thailand (May 3, 2011)--It wasn't just the sound of dBTechnologies' DVA line array that was the deciding factor in being chosen for the installation at Muang Thai Life Assurance company's head office.
Another consideration was the speed at which the full system could be assembled. Loudspeaker manufacturer dBTechnologies was just one of many brands that were considered for the fixed installation at the multi-purpose auditorium in Bangkok.
Running the pitch as a competition, Muang Thai Life Assurance asked the two finalists to set up each entire system in the auditorium so that there could be an accurate and fair judgment between the two different brands. When asked to compare the two, a company spokesman described the dBTechnologies' DVA line array as "...displaying superior music audio and speech clarity," and was impressed with its ease of installation. The dBTechnologies powered line-array system was rigged, patched and deployed in just over 30 minutes, whereas, according to db, the runner-up took more than three hours to rig and set up.
Local distributor, Total Equipments (Thailand) was responsible for the presentation of the dBTechnologies gear, which comprises four DVA T4s and two DVA S20 powered subwoofers each side for the 450-capacity auditorium. Winning the contract also led to a further upgrade to the stage monitoring system, which uses a number of dBTechnologies Opera 410D cabinets.
David Styles, the system engineer who installed the upgrade, said, "I have only needed to add a small amount of EQ for the room. DVA really is the perfect system for this kind of application."
