Location Digital Recording (LDR) has provided more than 20 years of service to the music, theater, and corporate communications industries in the San Francisco/Bay Area, providing recording, sound reinforcement and audio consulting services to many community organizations, schools, colleges, city arts and non profit arts organizations, including local orchestras and choral groups. Principal Andrew Heller has also worked in education, teaching at the Aspen Audio Recording Institute (part of the Aspen Music Festival) and at San Jose State University.

Meanwhile, for the last 10 years, NorCal Sound has provided the area with live sound reinforcement, broadcast, consulting and installations for events, municipalities and organizations. Owner Gary Wood has experience in the San Francisco live and recording/broadcast community as an engineer, musician, and musical arranger.

“We ended up turning to each other for help when we exceeded our individual capacities to provide the services that our clients required. Entrusting our businesses’ reputation to each other was easy, as we could see how committed the other was to providing the highest quality service, since we have each worked very hard to successfully grow our individual client bases,” said Heller and Wood.”

The merge includes the firm’s move into a new 3,200 sq. ft. office/warehouse and editing suite located in the heart of the San Francisco/Bay Area. Future plans include a voice-over isolation room and a high-end, fully equipped rehearsal studio for select clients.

The Audio Production Group is a user of, and an authorized dealer for, Nexo/Yamaha Commercial Audio products, as well as many others. “We have received nothing but great responses from everybody who has heard and/or performed with our Geo-D tangent array system, and look forward to increasing its usage on the West Coast,” Wood explained.

“This kind of work is an adventure for sure. It takes us in directions we never envisioned, with all kinds of people, projects and situations that we must be able to quickly respond to, in a positive way. With our experience and ability to provide such resources, we will continue on this path of success,” said Heller.

Located in San Carlos, CA, APG’s new phone number is 650-631-1072.
