Owner/operator Steve Young is retiring, and putting the intact facility and equipment on the market. This is a John Storyk-designed one-studio facility, with two isolated tracking rooms. Clients over the years have included Living Colour, De La Soul, Rick Wake, Fine Young Cannibals, Queen Latifa, Prince Paul, Big Daddy Kane, Jack Douglas, and commercial work for many local and national ad campaigns.

Merrick, NY (April 20, 2007)--Media Recording Studio, located 30 miles from Midtown Manhattan, on Long Island, is up for sale. Owner/operator Steve Young is retiring, and putting the intact facility and equipment on the market. This is a John Storyk-designed one-studio facility, with two isolated tracking rooms. Clients over the years have included Living Colour, De La Soul, Rick Wake, Fine Young Cannibals, Queen Latifa, Prince Paul, Big Daddy Kane, Jack Douglas, and commercial work for many local and national ad campaigns.

Mission control at Media RecordingThe Media Recording complex is fully operational, running a Pro Tools HD Accel System fully stocked with plug-ins from Line-6, Bomb Factory, Moogerfooger, IK Multimedia, Virus, Digidesign, Focusrite and Funk Logic, and the DigiRack line. Virtual instruments include FXpansion's BFD, Synthogy Ivory, and Spectrasonics Trilogy. The featured console in the control room is an Otari Concept 1, with 64 channels of Total Recall, and for analog recording, the studio houses Otari 2-inch 24 track MX80, 1/2-inch 2-track MTR12, and 1/4-inch 2-track 50-50B machines. Studio maintenace has been handled by Don Albanese, who in addition to being an audio design engineer and consultant to many NYC studios, was also a senior designer for Otari's Console Division.

Media Recording's main live roomOutboard gear includes: Eventide's H3000se and H3000s, Vintech X73 mic pre/EQ, dbx 165A compressor/limiter, UREI 1176 and 2 LA4s; sound modules and samplers include: Kurzweil K2000RS, Roland JV 1080, Emu Planet Phatt, 88-Key MIDI controller, and Alesis DM Pro Drum Module. The studio's mic collection includes Neumann M149 tube, AKG 414, 451 and D12E, beyer M88, Sennheiser MD421, Shure SM57 and SM58, and EV Re-20 and Re-14.

For monitoring, Media Sound has UREI 12-inch 809A mains with Crown amps, and Yamaha NS-10Ms, JBL 4312s, KRK KROCs and Tannoy nearfields. The studio also comes with AKG 240 and Fostex T50 headphones. The studio also has a 6-piece Yamaha Custom drum kit and Country Gentlemen Direct boxes.
