Madonna Rigger Falls 30 Feet

London (August 10, 2004)--On Friday, a member of Madonna’s production crew was injured in an accident during preparations for her upcoming shows at Earl’s Court in West London. The rigger suffered a broken arm and leg as the result of a 30-foot fall. Madonna’s current "Re-Invention" tour is due to play the venue on August 18 and 19; the crew had been on hand measuring stage dimensions at the time of the accident.

London (August 10, 2004)--On Friday, a member of Madonna’s production crew was injured in an accident during preparations for her upcoming shows at Earl’s Court in West London. The rigger suffered a broken arm and leg as the result of a 30-foot fall. Madonna’s current "Re-Invention" tour is due to play the venue on August 18 and 19; the crew had been on hand measuring stage dimensions at the time of the accident.

Reportedly the man was not taken to a a hospital for two hours after ambulances arrived on the scene, due to difficulties in moving the rigger. He was eventually taken to the Royal London Hospital for treatment.

"The entire crew, performers and staff, especially Madonna, were very saddened to hear about the accident but are hopeful that he will make a full recovery," said her manager, Caresse Henry.
