Coconut Grove, FL (March 16, 2004)–Florida post production company Manhattan Transfer Miami recently started work on the post-production elements for Dance Star USA–the American Dance Music Awards, reportedly a very technically-demanding program. Hosted by Carmen Electra, Dance Star USA was broadcast around the world from the live show staged at Miami’s Bayfront Park on March 9, 2004. For the second year running, Dance Star USA‘s director Tony Gregory chose Manhattan Transfer Miami for all the show’s post production needs.
The cast of stars on Dance Star USA, included a one-off super group, Precision Guided Musicians (Moby, Paul Van Dyk and Perry Farrell), Blue Man Group, The Crystal Method and Motorcycle, as well as a slew of the world’s top DJs, including Roger Sanchez, Carl Cox, Junior Vasquez and Pete Tong.
Tony Gregory explained his decision to come back to Manhattan Transfer Miami once again this year. “The audience for this show is huge, and very discerning,” said Gregory. “We needed a world-class facility to work with us to produce a high-end, glossy show. Manhattan Transfer Miami have everything under one roof, in terms of equipment, and top-flight creative staff. The decision to return to them this year was a no-brainer.”
Gregory continued, “On such a complex show, any number of unforeseen requirements arise to achieve the level of finesse that we require. MT are adaptable and untiring in responding to changing need and, most important, the director’s sofa is fabulous.”
