Montreal (February 16, 2006)--Canadian rock artist Jonas, recently completed a feature-length DVD, Jonas Live As We Roll. The 2 1/2 hour production features concert footage augmented by special features produced, shot and directed by Masque Entertainment's Gerard Schmidt.

Janie Duquette, president of his label, Deja Musique recognized the need to augment these early performances with a more stylistically inventive approach. We developed a concept that would appeal to his existing fan base and help create word of mouth among the uninitiated." Working with two cameras during an intense single day shoot as Jonas performed ten songs on stage, Schmidt also captured a more reflective four-song set during a sound check, and a series of candid interviews with the other band members.

"We were fortunate to be able to establish an immediate rapport with Jonas and his band," continued Schmidt. "A key element to capturing effective interviews is to set the subjects at ease and keep their minds off the cameras. Jonas and the entire band gave us 200 percent of their attention. They were as committed to creating a truly representative DVD as they are to their music. Though we were working within the realities of the traditionally tight budget and brief shooting window, a professional crew, and a can-do attitude fueled a successful project. The entire production was completed in Montreal except for the DVD authoring which was accomplished by Broadness in NYC."

An award-winning director/producer, Schmidt's credentials include projects for The Rolling Stones, Nickelback, Slipknot, Elvis Costello and Def Leppard. He was named executive producer/managing director of Masque Entertainment when the division was formed last year by Masque Sound, a leading NJ-based professional sound reinforcement and design company specializing in live concerts, TV broadcast, industrial, theatrical and house of worship productions and installations.
