Carlos Edgar Grier
Nashville (September 14, 2009)–Carlos Edgar Grier, a mastering engineer who began his career at Woodland Sound Studios in the early 1970s, died September 2 at his Nashville TN home from an apparent heart attack. He was 54 and is survived by his mother and sister.
Mr. Grier mastered and edited thousands of albums, from Willie Nelson to Garth Brooks, first at Woodland Sound Studios, and then spending over 16 years with Denny Purcell at his Georgetown facility. For the last eight years, Mr. Grier had followed his passion for horticulture, designing and installing irrigation systems for clients in and around Nashville.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 27 at 6 PM at Ocean Way Nashville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hemophilia & Bleeding Disorders Chapter of Alabama, 151Market Place, Montgomery, AL 36117.
