Nashville, TN - (September 22, 2009)--Independent Mastering has announced the first winners of its random draw for free mastering packages.
The Nashville-based studio plans to give away a total of six mastering packages through the end of 2009. The first random drawing was on July 31 and the winner was Brisbane, Australia group Medollic. The second winning artist, Reading UK act Gravity Circus, was drawn On August 31.
Medollic is a three-piece act that features New Zealand-born vocalist and songwriter, Lix Bacskay, along with up and coming producer and multi-instrumentalist James North, and drummer Steve Pope. The group has been tracking their 11-song debut album, Dollhouse, over the last two years. They expect to wrap production in the fall, just in time to reap the rewards of their prize package. The band describes its style as "PJ Harvey meets Alison Sudol from A Fine Frenzy, with a twist of Hollie Smith soul."
Gravity Circus is a project spearheaded by singer/songwriter Michael Neo, who also handles bass and overall ambience, with Gary Gimson on guitar, Michael James on drums. What started out as a rock n' roll outfit has over time transformed to include electronic beats and dance music sounds. So far, Gravity Circus has been quite active in Reading (home of the famous music festival), playing the live circuit there and receiving a fair amount of airplay on BBC Radio.
There are still four more mastering packages to be given away by Independent Mastering, a proud supporter of independent music worldwide. Additional drawings will take place on the last day of every month through to December 31, 2009.
