Anaheim, CA (January 23, 2004)–Midas launched its very first 8-bus console, Verona, at last week’s NAMM Show. The brand new Verona takes Midas into a new market sector, bringing the concept of Midas’s best-selling console, the ultra-compact Venice, to the next level–delivering more inputs, more features and of course Midas quality in a visually stunning package. Despite its modest proportions, Verona is a truly professional desk aimed squarely at the professional market.
Designed from the ground up by the same team responsible for the Heritage 3000 and XL4, the Verona series comprises six models ranging from 24 up to 64 inputs and incorporates all the features and components that make it look, sound and feel like a true professional Midas console. Sonically, a brand new premium performance mic amp design with very high CMR performance provides simple, noise-free connections, and every channel offers highly accurate and musical swept 4-band EQ.
Mechanically, Verona’s rigid chassis construction is designed for long-term reliability whether it is destined for life on the road or in a fixed installation. From a performance and functionality point of view, Verona may be easily set up for either FOH or monitors; the Group/Aux changeover switch allows the choice of any combination of the aux outputs to be controlled via a 100mm fader including insert point. This flexibility is supported by the front panel Aux EQ defeat switch–when pressed any auxes assigned pre fader will be sent pre EQ.
According to David Cooper, director of sales and marketing for Midas and Klark Teknik, Verona is a hugely significant console for Midas. “This is the first time we’ve had an 8-bus console in our portfolio and we are anticipating enormous demand for it. Anyone who has ever used a Venice and loved it will be even more enamoured of the Verona–you get more inputs, more features, more versatility, and that all-important Midas quality in a compact but truly professional package. It’s available as an install or touring package and will comfortably handle anything from rock and roll to theatre to corporate applications and houses of worship. If you’re in the market for an 8-bus console, Verona should definitely be on your shortlist.”
