New York (April 6, 2011)--Join Mix, Pro Sound News, Pro Audio Review and Dell for a free webinar: "Multiformat Mixing on a PC: Optimizing Your Windows 7 DAW for Audio Production” on on April 14th at 2:00PM.

The ability to mix audio in-the-box calls for a computer that is finely tuned to that objective. A PC designed and optimized for audio ensures high-quality production output by minimizing the number of “ifs” in the equation. Today’s audio pro asks more and more of his computer because digital audio production has ballooned to a reality where high track counts, the need for processor-intensive DSP for plug-ins, and a deadline-oriented workflow are the name of the game.

While there is a lot of advice out there on how to disable your screensaver and free up CPU capability for critical tasks, this NewBay Media Webinar, produced by technology expert and remix artist/producer Jason Blum and sponsored by Dell, will go much deeper and explore peripheral selection and how to take advantage of the latest in chipsets, CPUs, hard drives, RAM, and explore low-latency driver support and optimal interface solutions.

Then we’ll dive into techniques for creating a lean and stable environment for producing high-resolution mixes in Windows 7-based system.

This webinar applies across all DAW platforms whether working in Sonar, Pro Tools or Cubase/Nuendo, and will conclude with a live 20-minute Q&A and a Dell laptop giveaway.

With over 20 years invested in the computing and entertainment industries, Jason Blum brings a unique perspective to the table as both a professional musician and technology executive. As CTO at GPL Technologies, a boutique technology consulting company based in Santa Monica, he designs and integrates IT solutions for some of the world’s largest visual effects and film editing companies. In his parallel career as a recording professional, Jason has commercially released over 40 original works as part of the electronic dance music duo Deepsky, and has remixed tracks for artists including Madonna, David Bowie, Seal, America, Paul Oakenfold and the Crystal Method.
