Northridge, CA (March 25, 2011)–Kenny Daniels, aka Kenny Mixx, recently mastered the final Death Row Records album release using JBL LSR series monitors.
“Everyone who hears them loves the LSR studio monitors–artists and staffers alike. I believe a big part of this has to do with the fact that the low-frequency drivers in the LSR6328P and the LSR6312P subwoofer sound really transparent, without any distortion. The tweeter also integrates well with these drivers, and the overall sound of the system is really smooth.”
Daniels, who is chief mastering engineer at Patchwerk Recording Studios in Atlanta, just finished mastering Sam Sneed’s Street Scholars album, the final album to be released on hip-hop label Death Row Records. The Atlanta studio has recorded more than 60 gold and platinum albums. Daniels has worked with such artists as B.o.B, Yo Gotti, Scrappy, Pit Bull, Yung Joc, Flo Rida, Rick Ross, T.I. and many others.
“I’m working out of a brand-new room, and we were able to design the room around the LSR monitors,” Daniels noted. “However, I’ve gotten excellent results with the LSRs in other rooms because of their ability to adapt to different room acoustics and placement situations.”
He added, “The speakers not only sound smooth, they’re extremely powerful. They really kick.”
