Burbank, CA (May 15, 2006)–Mojave Audio’s MA-200 tube condenser microphone is now being broadly released. Since its introduction in May 2004, the microphone has been available in very limited quantities. Effective immediately, the microphone will enter general distribution and will be available through many more pro audio dealerships.
Mojave’s MA-200 tube condenser micEvolving from over 20 years of custom microphone design, the MA-200 provides full-bodied reproductions of vocals and instruments without the shrillness and high frequency artifacts so often encountered with modern condenser microphones. Using hand-selected 3-micron capsules, Jensen audio transformers, and military grade JAN 5840 vacuum tubes, the MA-200 was designed with an eye on the performance characteristics of some classic microphones.
The Mojave Audio MA-200 utilizes a 1-inch (diameter) gold sputtered capsule used in conjunction with a specially designed Jenson audio transformer and a military grade JAN 5840 vacuum tube. With its cardioid polar pattern, the MA-200 makes an outstanding choice for vocals, voice over, piano, acoustic instruments, drum overheads, orchestra, spot miking, and related applications. Further, the MA-200 employs balanced transformer output and ships with a rugged carrying case, power supply, shock mount, and cables.
Dusty Wakeman, president of Mojave Audio, commented, “The MA-200 is an exceptional microphone with a full-bodied, wide open sound that is adept at handling a broad range of recording applications. With a new distribution model that makes it much easier to find this microphone at retail, I’m confident recording engineers everywhere will be adding the MA-200 to their shopping lists. It’s a perfect piece for upper mid-level project and professional recording studio environments”
With a suggested retail price of $995, the Mojave Audio MA-200 tube condenser microphone is available at professional audio retailers.
