Los Angeles, CA (February 4, 2004)–Fresh off the success of the global McDonald’s campaign featuring pop artist Justin Timberlake and producer duo The Neptunes, Mona Davis Music has officially announced its Los Angeles commercial division. An international music production and publishing company, Mona Davis specializes in original music for film, TV and theater, and has offices in Munich, Germany and Los Angeles.
“We are obsessed with creating the perfect music whether it is for long or short format,” remarked co-founder Tom Batoy. “We want to make the best music we possibly can drawing from our musical backgrounds and vast library of artists. Just as we did with the McDonald’s project, we feel we bring an international perspective to ad campaigns.”
“We are excited to announce the launch of our Los Angeles commercial division,” added co-founder Franco Tortora. “It is a natural transition for us to apply our passion in film and TV to the ad world. With an office in Los Angeles, we are close to the heart of the commercial industry and can bring a European aesthetic and approach to our work.”
The McDonald’s global marketing campaign, which was conceived by ad agency Heyes & Partners of Unterhaching, Germany, marks Mona Davis’ first official commercial work done through the Los Angeles location. Batoy and Tortora composed and produced the campaign music for 12 languages including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Mandarin, and Russian, among others. Mona Davis supervised the mixing sessions for the 12 versions at the Record Plant in Los Angeles, collaborating with representatives from the international agencies and recording with handpicked musicians.
