Minneapolis, MN & Los Angeles, CA (December 11, 2006)–Music, sound and audio production company Brahmstedt White Noise (BWN) announced the addition of two key talents, composers Justin Asher and Annie Holoien. Asher is based on the company’s Los Angeles office, while Holoien is located in the new studio in downtown Minneapolis.
Both bring extensive experience in commercial, long-format and independent music production combining the hard knocks of live performance and touring with the pleasantries of the in-studio creative.
“Working at BWN with (Founders) Ken (Brahmstedt) and Carl (White) is great for so many reasons; they are talented, fast and clients love them,” said Holoien. “I am excited to be a part of this growing company and to merge my music experience with growing studio skills.”
A native of Fargo, ND, Annie Holoien moved to Minneapolis in 1996. A true music lover, she was a classically trained pianist at a young age and moved on to electric guitars and drums in high school. She is an avid record collector who has been in several rock & roll bands; most recently The Soviettes with whom she toured the U.S. several times, co-wrote a handful of singles and recorded three full-length albums.
Asher added, “We share a similar approach to composing, which makes for a really rewarding experience. Additionally, Ken and Carl are both so technically savvy that they can focus their energy on the creative content and seamless collaboration, whether in the next room or thousands of miles away.”
A native New Yorker, Asher attended Purchase Conservatory and earned a Bachelor degree in Studio Composition and began touring as a multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar and percussion. Between tours he engineered, played on and produced critically acclaimed records for Touch and Go, Koch international, Island/Def Jam, Tzadik, Knitting Factory and Munich Europe. He was previously with Slogan Music in Los Angeles.
