Horsham, PA (January 23, 2004)–Music Choice has announced that its music channels now reach 32.7 million DIRECTV and digital cable homes, an increase of six million households in 2003. “We are thrilled to announce a record growth rate in 2003 of six million new customers. Music Choice now reaches almost one in every three households in the U.S.,” stated David Del Beccaro, president and CEO of Music Choice.
Music Choice recently launched My Music Choice, a custom music service for digital cable subscribers. My Music Choice enables digital cable customers to build their own music channels by choosing from thousands of selections available to them. Viewers pick the genres, sub-genres, and mix for their customized channels. With a few clicks of their television remote, Music Choice viewers are able to listen to the music they want, when they want.
“This new music service represents the commitment by Music Choice to be the pioneer in custom music delivery. We heard the demands of music consumers and we responded,” stated Del Beccaro.
Coming in 2004, broadband subscribers will be able to listen to 50 channels of music through Music Choice Broadband. The music will be delivered via satellite, delivering a superior sound quality. In addition to the wide variety of non-stop music channels to choose from, Music Choice Broadband listeners will have the unique opportunity to purchase digital downloads on demand through Napster. Music Choice Broadband will also add the technology to build custom music channels in late 2004.
Del Beccaro noted, “The launch of Music Choice Broadband gives Music Choice the distinction of being the first music television network to span seamlessly across both televisions and PC’s.”
